The winter of 2021 has been mild with some Bears choosing not to den up. This means that the Bears should be coming down to the rivers and shorelines a bit earlier this spring. The Kodiak bear population continues to grow at a strong rate. With an average of 1 brown bear for every 3/4 square miles. With the Brown Bear on Kodiak island being  highly managed by Alaska Fish and Game. The hunting for 2021 looks as good as ever for the Kodiak brown bear it’s a true adventure for any hunter.

The Coronavirus has unfortunately affected the 2020 nonresident spring Kodiak brown bear season. It was officially cancelled by the State of Alaska. The positive side of this is with no nonresident harvest the spring of 2020 there will be even more bears and older bears for our future hunts.
